Context menu prompt

When using features such as AI chatAI rewriterAI reader, AI translator, etc., you may want to create custom prompts. Here is a full guide for you to use prompt in context menu.

How to add new prompt?

Accessing my own prompts

  1. Open the sidebar.
  2. Locate the settings button in the bottom right corner and click it.
  3. This action takes you to a new page. There, you’ll find the entrance to My Own Prompts as the second option on the left side.
  4. Access the main interface of My own prompts and select the Context menu in the first tab.

Add new prompt

Take a look at these 3 buttons you will use when adding a new prompt to the context menu.
  • New Prompt: Create a new prompt from scratch or by modifying an existing one.
  • New Prompt Group: Click this button to create a new group for organizing your prompts.
  • Custom Prompt Order: Use drag-and-drop functionality or the “Top” button to rearrange the order of your prompts as desired.

To add new prompt, please click the “New prompt” button.

Set up basic configuration

  1. Name: A field for the prompt’s name.
  2. Icon: Choose an icon to visually represent the prompt.
  3. AI Response Language: The AI response will use the language selected here. But if this option is disabled , AI will automatically choose the language to respond. You can find this option in the settings under “Languages”.
  4. Visibility: Specify which websites the prompt will be visible, with options to enable specific sites.
  5. Once the above options are set, click the “Next, Add Prompt” button or the “Prompt” tab to edit the actual content of your new prompt.

Set up prompt template

Interface Overview

  • Prompt Template*: This field is where you define the prompt template. An asterisk (*) indicates a required field.
  • Capabilities: Select or view the capabilities or features that the prompt can utilize.
  • Context: Use special variables like {{SELECTED_TEXT}}, {{CURRENT_WEBSITE_DOMAIN}}, and {{SYSTEM_CURRENT_DATE}}, which will be dynamically replaced with real data when the prompt is used.
    • {{SELECTED_TEXT}}: The text you selected on the current page.
    • {{CURRENT_WEBSITE_DOMAIN}}: The current website’s domain.
    • {{SYSTEM_CURRENT_DATE}}: Today’s date (e.g., 2023-11-12).
  • Add new variables: This is a section where you can define additional variables to be used within the prompt. There is an ‘Add’ button to include new variables.

Edit your customized prompt

You are now ready to start customizing your personal prompt.
  1. Enter your prompt in the text box at the bottom left.
  2. Select the needed variable placeholders. You must use at least the {{SELECTED_TEXT}} placeholder.
  3. Once you’ve edited your prompt, test it in the preview panel to the right. You can tweak the AI model’s settings during the test to refine the language.
  4. Click the “Create” button in the top right corner to finish. The prompt can then be accessed using the context menu or rearranged in settings using drag-and-drop or the “Top” button.
  5. Wait for the green “Success updated” hint at the bottom left. This means your prompt was created successfully.

Add your own variables

Certainly, while editing your own prompt, you can add your own custom variables by clicking on “Add new variables”. By using your own variable placeholders, you can adjust the language, tone, and writing style to fit the context and boost productivity.
  1. In the first column, type the variable name.
  2. In the second column, add a placeholder for the variable. A placeholder usually represents a basic value or indicates what kind of information will go into the variable.
  3. Click the “Add” button to complete the addition of the variable.

Find your own prompt

My own prompts feature tabs: Context Menu, Instant Reply, and Summary. Prompts you create within each tab will be found in their respective sections. 

For instance, your custom prompt in the Context Menu and successfully saved settings will appear when you use the context menu.
